Legacy TwinFlip Pen Case for 5 Pens Review
I'm not going to lie to you: $85 is a lot of money. But there is a benefit to having a high quality piece of leather that you're going to enjoy using and that is going to care for your pens.
There are definitely cheaper alternatives out there. For me, the leather and the feeling are worth it.
It's not for everyone. If you enjoy the touch of leather, this is very high quality.
If you're looking to store up to five pens, this is a great product. It holds them perfectly and doesn't scratch them. It has earned a spot in my lineup so far, after about a week of use.
Galen Leather sent this case for free to review. They are not paying me to say anything, and the opinions are my own.

What's in it
This case is meant for five pens. I have it loaded up with four fountain pens and the Multi 8, which is a little thicker, and it fits beautifully. When you open the whole case, the space for the pens is pretty generous.
The system is pretty simple. You get the five loops, and then you just close it.
At the bottom you get a couple of slots for cards and a bigger slot for something larger. Sometimes I put either cards or sticky notes there.
Leather and build
My first impression is that the leather is very soft. I really wanted to have a leather case for my pens, and this has fulfilled that want.
The leather came pretty soft. It wasn't very stiff, and it's starting to soften a lot more.
You can tell this is high quality. It is handmade, and the leather feels really great and soft in the hands.
The stitching is made wonderfully, and there are really no signs of it breaking apart. It looks like it was well taken care of from the first stitch to the last.
I'm not really worried about scratching the leather. I like using my things, and that doesn't bother me.
But just know that the clips may leave some marks. That's part of using it how I enjoy it.
Which pens fit
Regular-size pens like my TWSBI Eco fit pretty well. A tall pen is a different story. When I take a taller pen that fits in my Lochby Quattro and slot it into the TwinFlip, it is quite tall and does not fit comfortably.
So keep that in mind if you have a tall pen. It may not fit there.
The beauty of having five separate slots is you're not really having pens that touch each other. They stay very nicely separated, so you're not scratching anything.
Who it's for
So far this has been my daily driver, and I've been really enjoying it, especially the high quality leather.
It ships overseas, so shipping may be a little more.
$85 can be a lot of money for a lot of people. For high quality pens that I don't want scratched, though, I see it as a small price to pay. If I'm enjoying the things I'm using, I'm going to use them a lot more.
If you'd rather have something more rugged, the waxed canvas Lochby Quattro can carry maybe twice as much if you really load it up.
